Confident, safe, practice-ready clinical care

Courses build knowledge — mentoring builds confidence. A MedLRN clinical mentor works with you one to one to strengthen your consultations, sharpen your clinical reasoning, and help you apply your training safely with real patients.

How a mentoring consultation works

Simple to book, focused on you, and designed to make a real difference.

1

Tell us your goals. Share where you are now and what you want to get out of mentoring.

2

Get matched. We pair you with a mentor experienced in your area of focus.

3

Meet 1:1. Online or in person, work through cases, questions, and skills together.

4

Action plan. Leave each session with clear next steps and things to practise.

5

Apply it. Put your learning into practice with the safety of mentor support.

6

Review & build. Track your progress and continue at a pace that suits you.

Mentoring supports your development; it does not replace your clinical responsibility. You remain accountable for your own decisions, registration, indemnity, and scope of practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect from clinical mentoring with MedLRN.

Who is clinical mentoring for?

Pharmacists, prescribers, and other clinicians who want to build confidence, consolidate learning from a course, or strengthen their skills in a specific therapy area.

Is mentoring online or in person?

Both options are available. Most mentoring happens online for flexibility, with in-person sessions arranged where appropriate.

How is this different from a course?

Courses deliver structured knowledge to a group. Mentoring is one to one and tailored entirely to you — your cases, your questions, and your goals.

Can mentoring count toward my portfolio?

Mentoring can support reflective practice and CPD evidence. Always follow your regulator's and employer's requirements for what counts and how to record it.

Is this the same as DPP supervision?

No. Formal learning-in-practice supervision is provided by a Designated Prescribing Practitioner — see our Find a DPP page. Clinical mentoring is broader developmental support and is not a substitute for required supervision.

How many sessions will I need?

That's up to you. Some want a single focused session; others prefer ongoing support. We'll suggest a sensible rhythm based on your goals.
