Is this course really 100% online? Do I need to attend any classes in person?

This course combines online learning with practical clinical application. While Part A (Knowledge-Based Learning) is completely online and can be accessed anytime through our e-learning platform, Parts B and C require supervised clinical practice and assessment in your workplace setting. We shall arrange (subject to availability) a Senior Practitioner to supervise your practical application and provide witness testimonies of your competency.

The final assessment (Professional Discussion) may be conducted remotely or in person, depending on arrangements with your assessor. This blended approach ensures you gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills while minimizing time away from your practice. Your e-learning components can be completed at your own pace, while the supervised practice occurs within your normal work environment.

Will I earn university credit for completing the Specialization?

This Specialization doesn’t carry university credit, but some universities may choose to accept Specialization Certificates for credit. Check with your institution to learn more.

How do I complete the Specialization?

To complete this specialized CPD programme, you must fulfill these requirements:

1Complete all mandatory units (Units 1-5) covering obesity management, patient assessment, pharmacotherapy, complications, and weight management in older adults.

2Select and complete one optional unit (either Unit 6 on Mental Health or Unit 7 on Advanced Pharmacotherapy) aligned with your practice sector.

3Successfully pass all three assessment components:

  • Part A: Knowledge-Based Learning (online e-learning with MCQs, case studies)
  • Part B: Supervised Clinical Practice (with witness testimonies from a Senior Practitioner)
